About OnCourage
OnCourage was created to help bring family and friends together, no matter how far away, in order to bridge distance by creating and building a stronger community of support.
HOW ONCOURAGE WAS BORN
The idea for OnCourage was ignited by Helen’s cancer experience. Helen had a very aggressive cancer that took her and her only daughter by storm.
With friends and family all over the country, keeping them regularly informed of Helen’s health status was difficult for her daughter. Both belonged to the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) and it was an honour to support them in other ways. However, we did not have the tools to help them with this part of their cancer journey. We believed this was a need for families experiencing cancer so set about creating OnCourage.
HOW IT WORKS
For as little as $25 you (as the “organizer”) and your family and friends can have access to this webpage for one full year.
By sharing your journey your friends and family can visit your OnCourage page to “sign up” to help with specific tasks that you requested like drives to treatment, groceries, dinner preparation, etc., called "Rally for Support". They can also buy gifts to show their support from the online Wellness Boutique.
WHAT IS ONCOURAGE?
OnCourage is a website dedicated to making the cancer experience a little easier. It lets you create a customized, private webpage where family and friends can “gather” for updates, share stories, and support you or your family member diagnosed with cancer.
OnCourage makes it simpler! In just one place, you can post news and updates for the family members and friends you invited to join your page. They will get a real-time update and can share their own thoughts, stories, and pictures on the page.
Your OnCourage page provides you with the opportunity to become a WICWC Participant accessing information, resources, programs (inhouse or virtual) and support free of charge.
